Attain A V-Shaped Face with Facial Sculpting Treatments
Contouring the face to achieve a more lifted, V-shaped apperance non-surgically is no
longer impossible. Dr. Siew Tuck Wah,
Medical Director of Radium Medical
Aesthetics shares with us some non-surgical facial sculpting treatments that have visible results with minimal downtime.
Unlike
other body parts such as arms, legs, abdominals, augmenting the face and reduce excess facial fats are hard to accomplish no matter how committed you are
to your exercise routine.
For people with poorly defined
facial contours, Dr. Siew recommends Botox
Facial Sculpting Program to sharpen the face and create that perfectly
chiseled jawline.
Tailored Facial Sculpting Program for a Slimmer, Firmer Face
A broad jaw often makes a person's face appear large and unattractive. This is because of the strong masseter
muscles that play a very important role in the chewing of solid foods. Over
several years of chewing of solid foods, we develop strong masseter muscles
that make a person’s face look big.
By introducing small amounts of
Botox into the masseter muscles, it effectively reduces the jaw by relaxing the
muscles. Although you may see some result in a matter of days, best result is seen about one week after the treatment. Botox weakens the
muscles, causing it to shrink. When the full effect of Botox
Facial Slimming treatment has set in, it visibly reduces the lower face, giving a person a sharper-looking jawline.
Botox Facial Slimming treatment
only targets the masseter muscles on the face. A more holistic approach has to be employed to make the facial contouring more effective and long-lasting. TriPollar V-Lift
uses focused radiofrequency waves to deliver heat to the collagen fibers deep in
the skin tissue. As they are heated to a consistent temperature, the collagen fibers contract, resulting in
immediate tightening of the skin. The focused deep heating breaks down the fat cells in
the face and stimulates collagen production. At the same time, collagen production is stimulated to produce higher levels of collagen for a firmer, tighter skin.
For people with slightly deeper pocket, Ultherapy
Facial Slimming treatment can be added to the program to provide maximal
contouring effects. Ultherapy is the only FDA-approved, non-invasive procedure
that lifts and tightens the neck, chin and brow, and improves wrinkles and
lines on the décolletage.
Using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) waves, Ultherapy targets the deep layers of the skin, including the
dermis and the Superficial
Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) layer. For people who are unfamiliar with the skin, the SMAS layer is the deep
foundational layer of the skin that cosmetic surgeons tighten in surgical facelift
treatments.
Using HIFU, Ultherapy
heats the skin to a consistent temperature of about 60 to 70 degrees Celsius to
produce skin contraction and collagen production for long term anti-aging
effects.
How Long Does Botox Facial Sculpting Program Take to Complete?
Based on the recommendation by Dr. Siew, Botox Facial Sculpting Program is
best done over an interval of 1 month apart for 3 sessions. Each session
consists of a Botox Facial Slimming treatment followed by a TriPollar V-Lift
treatment.
A more sustainable, longer-lasting facial sculpting result can be attained by opting to undergo Ultherapy Facial Slimming. This will be done
on the 4th and final session of the program.
How Do I Know if Botox Facial Sculpting Program is Suitable for Me?
This intensive facial sculpting program is
suitable for people who are unwilling to undergo a surgical procedure and expose to possible surgical risks and long downtime. Furthermore, a surgical
procedure may cause extensive trauma and discomfort
to the patient, affecting one's social life.
